Re: First Flowers
sisters. Sis Mabsoota, I used a number 8 flat brush (if I remember correctly ) and a liner (I think number 2). The different flower petals are still difficult to draw - the ones above are the ones I've figured out so far. Any advice about how to learn the different flower petals? Like the petals of carnations and lilies for example. And I'm still working on brush control (is that what you'd call it?)

Re: First Flowers
I think that it's a masterpiece mashaAllah! Did you use Acrylics?
I am no expert and I usually just experiment to see what works best, but regarding painting carnations, their petals are quite ragged on their edges so you could try painting the raggedness by using the tip of a round brush to dab small triangle shapes e.g. imagine each 'v' as being a dab of paint = vvvvvvv or you may prefer to paint a zig-zag. Probably the dabbing of the paint would be the easiest and most effective as you can 'pull' the brush to form the rest of the petal. Perhaps we can find a tutorial in a google search inshaAllah.
I look forward to seeing more of your creations inshaAllah.

Re: First Flowers
sis oumloubabah .
ooo sis Aisha! Very helpful. The book talked about zig-zag but I couldn't get it to look the way I wanted. I'll have to keep practicing insha'Allah. Oh and yes I use acrylics . I think oils are for more experienced painters yes?
I've tried google but I don't think I'm putting in the correct words to bring back what I need. I'll keep trying insha'Allah.
