*~Teeny Tinies~*
After scanning the net and admiring all the lovely babushka dolls other crafters have been making, I decided to have a go myself and do something for my daughters. I made up one, then two, then three and ended up with around 10 mashaAllah, all doing different things. They can't be called Babushka dolls, because babushka is the name of the scarves Russian ladies wear (inshaAllah I'm right on that one), my dollies are wearing what looks like a jilbab, lol, so anyway, I thought I'd name them Teeny Tinies for now. My girls adore them and want me to make more! They keep giving me suggestions for new things the dolls could be doing. Actually, my older two have been helping me stitch the bodies together and stuffing them too, it's all fun mashaAllah! Hope you like them. Why not give them a go yourselves? Felt is amazing and easy to handle. Plus the colours are just wonderful!

I've placed a pencil to the right of the picture to give you idea of the scale.

As Salamu Alaikum
Masha Allah Tabarak Allah Wow Sister Mabsoota you are one amazing mum.
I agree with sister Umm An-Nu'man, you should open an online store for your arts and crafts.

Re: *~Teeny Tinies~*
sisters for your kind words.
I would to open up an online craft shop but it'll be too demanding for me right now, perhaps one day in the future. Actually I sometimes dream of having a little arts and crafts shop (not online) of my very own, maybe one day when I'm old and grey, inshaAllah.

Masha Allah Tabaraka Allah, they are just so cute and great, Insha Allah I will make some myself for my 3 daughters. Dearest Sis, looking at your work I have started a mental list 'soon to make InshaAllah', and looks like I will not be able to start even one, as each one is better than the other and it keeps on adding.
May Allah give you Barakah in your time and family. A'ameen

Re: *~Teeny Tinies~*
sisters!!
Time or lack of is the problem sis Umm Kashifa. The projects can take a while to complete, for example the insect book took me ages and ages to complete subhanAllah. I kept putting it on hold due to other commitments, but because I'd promised my daughter I'd make one for her, this pushed me along and seeing her little face light up when I gave it to her was the icing on the cake for me mashaAllah. The dolls don't take too long to make up once you have everything close at hand and a couple of hours to yourself. The kids are usually playing around me when I'm doing crafts, they are learning by observing you see. It's relaxing and I love being productive. I'm sure you'd do a good job sister with any of the projects you have in mind. Just make them up when you feel inspired. (And then post up pics here when you're done, lol!)

Mashaalah these are just beautiful. Could you perhaps put your pattern on the website. I am not very crafty, but would love to give this project a go. Not only wonderful for my kids and friends...but also for the Islamic School fete later int he year. (I know this is quite ambitious...but I would love to try!!!)

Re: *~Teeny Tinies~*
ladies!
Erm...what pattern! Actually I only have a template I made up for the shape of the body just to keep them all the same size. Just cut an arch shape out of some cardboard, and use that to trace the material around. The rest I just did without a pattern, the head is easy, it's just a circle and the hands and hair can be snipped into a shape pretty easily. Try it out, it's not too hard to do. The kids really like them, I've made new ones with them holding more interesting objects. It's all trial and error, but alot of fun! Keeps me happy because the kids are happy mashaAllah!Could you perhaps put your pattern on the website.
I used felt. You can buy them from craft shops inshaAllah.what type of fabric did you use?

Re: *~Teeny Tinies~*
Sister Mabsoota these dolls are so adorable .
They are a wonderful gift idea for little girls. I can just see them being used to play doll house or for a puppet theatre! In fact I think you use them as characters in a children's book. With your graphic designs and these dolls put together you can create wonderful storybooks for children to read. Alternatively, make a story and have the dolls be sold along with the book for the children to read and role play! The possibilities are endless, SubhanAllah.
for sharing your beautiful, creative work! Allah has indeed blessed you with a wonderful gift and you are using it to bring happiness and wonder to our lives!
