Mabsoota's Fridge Gallery
Here, I will display my young Susu's artwork that she likes to put on our fridge mashaAllah.
She's going to be 4 in December inshaAllah.
At the moment she is taking an art class along with some of her friends mashaAllah.
For 3 weeks they are going through The Very Hungry Caterpillar book by Eric Carle for inspiration.
It's such an amazing book!
Enjoy her work!
Below are marble type glass nuggets turned into a caterpillar. Leaves and twigs found around the garden.

MashaAllah tabaarakAllah It's always nice to see what the little ones are doing. I love the collage The caterpillar looks very elegant - like jewellery I also have the book - it was my first son's book from when he was about 2 yrs old (he's now 24yrs mashaAllah) and has lasted through all five children mashaAllah. It is a fun book and the illustrations are beautiful too. I can't wait to see your daughter's version of the butterfly inshaAllah

Re: Mabsoota's Fridge Gallery
dear sisters! The book really is timeless subhanAllah. Eric Carle was 40 years old when he came up with idea for the book. He's in his early 80's now I think!
Anyway, the first week was all about the caterpillar, how it comes out of the egg and how it eats and eats until it gets a tummy ache. The 2nd week was about the fruits, the colours used in the book. Eric Carle's website has a colouring page you can print out about the book which the kids liked. They made a caterpillar out of play doh too which they placed on a leaf which had holes punched out of it. Next week is all about the butterfly inshaAllah! Hope it does inspire you um zakariah aswell as other members!

Re: Mabsoota's Fridge Gallery
My little Susu has finished her theme of The Very Hungry Caterpillar mashaAllah.
Here is a painting she did of a butterfly using the traditional style, of painting on one side of the paper only, then folding the paper over to get the impression of it on the other side mashaAllah. Some glitter was added to the paint for a nice shiny effect.
Next she painted some wired butterfly wings and glued glass nuggest and pieces of coloured sponge over it mashaAllah.
She really did enjoy this theme!

Re: Mabsoota's Fridge Gallery
sisters!
Next up on the fridge is a collage beach scene.
Materials used:
Coloured paper cut into squares (sky and sand), tissue paper ( 2 tones of blue for the sea),
Yellow paper (sun),foil shapes (fish and shells) and cotton wool (clouds).
A week before this project, the whole family went to the beach, so the scene was very fresh in her mind.
It's a busy project for the little ones with lots of sticking down involved, but
very worthwhile in the end mashaAllah. The square papers were cut out already, so was the sun.
The tissue paper is very easy to pull apart into strips. The best part seemed to be the cotton wool and
the fish and shells.

Re: Mabsoota's Fridge Gallery
That looks like it was lots of fun to do. It looks like sequins on chiffon - I'd love a dress like this - the pic represents the top or bodice of the dress and the skirt part would be more of the flowing blue chiffon
