Where would I be without Allah?
Where would I be without Allah?
Where would I be without Allah?
I really dread to think.
He's always been there for me,
when my life seemed 'on the brink',
He has always guided me, to Him all praises be
when I have had choices to make.
He has kept me safe along the way
May all my deeds be for His sake.
I have been in situations which, when I recall now, make me shudder!
Allah was there protecting me, my God, there is no other!
In happy times too He's always there
to thank for so many of our blessings,
When making important decisions,
Learning from life's lessons.
Where would I be without Allah?
I cannot answer that question.
I feel He's always been there for me you see,
So it's beyond my comprehension!
- all praises be to Allah, The Lord of the worlds,
And peace and blessings of Allah be upon our Blessed Prophet Muhammed.

Re: Where would I be without Allah?
I like your poem sis . Question: Do you think the flow of this stanza
would be smoother if you added the words "want to"? So it would read, "I have been in situations which, when I recall now, make me want to shudder!"I have been in situations which, when I recall now, make me shudder!
I'm only asking ...I don't know the 'beat' (so to speak) you had in mind when your wrote it.

JazakumAllahu khairan dear sisters - I'm glad that you liked it.
I appreciate your suggestion dear sister umm An-Nu'man jazakiAllahu khairan but it would change the rhythm and the actual meaning. To give you a better idea of the rhythm there is a pause at each comma.I have been in situations which, when I recall now, make me shudder!
