dresses I made
I wanted to share some things that I made for my oldest daughter.
Here is a twirly dress I made. I made the skirt portion and the top part is a shirt that I got at Target:
And here are 2 jumpers that I made her to wear over a shirt:

Re: dresses I made
If I'm able to sit down and work on it, it doesn't take me too long, maybe 1 1/2 - 2 hours. I never timed it before. But, if I keep getting interupted...it can take much longer...

Assalamou aleikoum warahamatoullah wabarakatou
oh they are so nice Mashallah.
Do you sew by hand or with machine ? because I would love to know how to sew but I am useless at both (but I really need it ) and do you make you own patterns ?
I am afraid my dear sister, that you will have more questions to answer...

As salam alaikum Khadija
I use a machine. It's a simple, no frills type. And, I used a pattern for 2 of those, the twirly dress, it was so easy, and the green paisley jumper I used a pattern. But for the yellow one I traced (with chalk on the wrong side of the fabric) a pattern off of the green one and just made it a little shorter. It was easier than using the pattern for some reason.
It's really not that difficult. Just takes some patience and time.

Thank you for the kind words sisters.
Yes, sister Aisha I did enjoy making them. I haven't sewed anything for my youngest yet. I have a hard time since the clothes would be so small.

Re: dresses I made
Well for a baby you could have the buttons all the way down the back or the front so that you could open it completely. I posted a pic here in the handicrafts forum of a pinafore dress which i made for my daughter when she was approx 5 months old which buttons down the front.
