The Little Girl

Assalaamu alaykum


The Little Girl






She sat on the garden bench with her cat on her
lap,listening to the beautiful sounds around her.
A bird was whistling nearby in a tree, the leaves
of the tree were swaying to and fro in the breeze.
Her cat slept, purring,while the little girl stroked it.
From the kitchen window her mother’s gentle voice
could be heard as she recited verses of Al-Quraan.
'Such a tender voice mashAllah' thought the girl.
A bee buzzed nearby, before settling on a flower.
The girl turned her head towards it as it went along
its busy day, subhanAllah. Then her mother called her
in, lunch was ready. So she stood up very carefully and
placed her cat gently onto the bench. Her right hand went
in search of something. It was a cane, a white cane, for this
sweet little girl, was blind.

Very nice mashaAllah. It made me close my own eyes to listen and to be aware of how many different sounds I could hear.
Our pet birds twittering away on our balcony, wild birds in the trees around, traffic, hum of the computer.
SubhanAllah we have so many blessings, alhamdulilah.
