Poems i would LUV to share!!!
Salams
I'm not sure how to start this post
So I'll start it with what I like most
I'll say "Salams" and hope that you
Reply with "And a hearty Salams to you too"
And I guess that sums it all up. So I'll share a poem with you now, but I have a question. Do I keep on returning to this post to add more poems or do I have to post a new topic everytime I want to share a new one?
Ok, I'll stop talking (er, typing) and write my poem down.
Everyday School
I wake up in the morning
To start a hectic day
I go to school
And then come back
With nothing more to say
Than all the things I learned that day
And never when I play.
I do my work all day
Without so much as sigh
But then they say
"That's not enough!"
And pack me with homework
I thought I'd die!
Then finally when the weekend comes
And they find me yelling hooray
They pack me up with more and say
DUE ON MONDAY!!
Actually I don't really feel this way about school I wrote this in grade 8, which I think was my most challenging year. I remember they used to drown us in Homework

Salams
Jazakumillah Sisters Umm An-Nu'man and Zaza for your sweet comments. I think I'd like to write all my poems here for now inshallah.
Here's another one I've written
Poor Child
I saw the face in a window one dark cloudy night
A face full of misery and so full of fright
It stared at me; and I stared right back
Held by the eyes so brimming with lack
Telling me stories of hunger and pain
Telling me tales of sorrows and no gain
I stepped closer to the window to see who it was
But stopped in my tracks when I fulfilled my cause
It was a child and no older than me!
Someone my age with not a hint of glee.
I ran back home to tell my mother my story
And she told one so sad and gory
Of all the poor people who inhabited our world
They had almost nothing; both young and old
So I told her of a plan I'd devised in my head
Something for my friend to feel happines not dread
We gathered up as much as we could
Of food, money, clothes, and other goods
We hurried to these people and knocked on their door
And gave it to them all, promising more
And true happiness I really gained
When I saw the child's face joyful not pained

Re: Poems i would LUV to share!!!
The first one is so cute! LOL, I knew I surely felt like that when I was in school- the work never seemed to end,
The second poem is lovely. I like the message it sends, MashaAllah. Truly we must remember our sisters/brothers who are suffering and help them as we can. Jazaki Allah for sharing
I personally prefer if you post the poems in different threads because sometimes I don't notice the new posts people post when it's in an old thread...but of course, you should do as you prefer...

Hahahaha, jazakillah for you sweet comments. Yes, HW was a torture . And you know what, you're right. Lots of people don't notice new posts in old threads, but they DO notice completely new threads. Jazakillah for the advice. Really, I love it when sisters tell me exactly what they think about the things I do because we all need good advice
So, new thread inshallah for the next poem
