Magnolia's Poem Production-Line Project!
As-Salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh
Here's an idea I came up with for a fun topic to get our creative cogs moving inshaAllah
Magnolia's Poem Production-Line Project!
Rules of the project :
1 - We decide on a poem title beforehand (sisters can suggest the titles of future poem projects with the first two lines of the poem included if they are feeling particularly enthusiastic inshaAllah ).
2 - Each sister adds two rhyming lines each.
3 - The poem should be between 10 and 20 lines long - this should give us plenty of leeway to round off the ending and have the poem make a bit of sense inshaAllah.
4 - Each sister posts her two lines in a different colour, separate from the poem, then posts the previous lines of the poem as a whole, adding her additional lines.
Sis Umm An-Nu'man has suggested the following title for our first poem project which is very appropriate for this time of the Islamic year mashaAllah (suggestions for later projects can be voted on by the members inshaAllah).
A Journey Like No Other (for the Hajj)
So off we go with our new project inshaAllah - I'll start us off with the first two lines written by me and lines 3 & 4 written by sis zaza mashaAllah.
Bismillahir-Rahman ur-Raheem....
lines 1 & 2 by Aisha :
It is a journey like no other,
All are equal - sisters and brothers...
lines 3 & 4 added by sis zaza :
Assembling together
from far and near
Please continue dear sisters inshaAllah

Re: Magnolia's Poem Production-Line Project!
Assalaamu'alaikum,
Sisters..i will try to add the lines..
Really it is so fun and it forced me to think and think, finally i made the lines but..not sure if my lines fit and match in the poem or not .. (i dont mind at all to get corrections! )
It is really good idea to have projects in the forum....i feel it's like my "home work" that has to be done, jazakallahukhair !
Ok...here are my lines....
" Thawaf around the kabah, wuquf in arafah
Our hearts filled with joy, hope, and fear"
====
Are they too long..??
Wassalaamu'alaikum,

Where are all the poets?
Maybe there is a conference that we haven't heard about
I am tempted to finish the poem myself

No, it's not meant to be the final verse, couldn't think of a good ending, but we're allowed up to 20 lines alhamdulillah. Who's up for the next couple of lines then?

Our poem so far mashaAllah:
A Journey Like No Other
It is a journey like no other,
All are equal - sisters and brothers.
Assembling together
from far and near
To worship Allah,
We are finally here.
Tawaf around the kabah, wuquf in Arafah,
Our hearts filled with joy, hope, and fear.
Wrapped in simple garments
And sleeping within white tents
A place with much history for all Muslims to learn
To soften our hearts and seek forgiveness Muslims yearn.
Can anyone add anything else please? (2 lines at a time)
WaSalaamu alaikum,
