Story about race.
The little black girl
Layla was a little black girl who lived with her mum and dad on a busy London road. She was four years old and wasn’t in school yet. Every day she played in her lovely warm living room. Her mum was very kind and loved her very much.
One day Layla was sitting at her little pink table on her little pink chair drawing a picture, when her mother called her to dinner.
“Come here Layla, I made your favorite lunch, mashed potatoes and green peas”
“Yum” cried Layla, rushing to the kitchen table.
Layla began to eat her lunch hungrily; her mother looked up at her tight curls and black face lovingly.
“You know Layla”, her mother said softly. “I named you after the night. (Layla) Means night in Arabic. And you are as beautiful and mysterious as a star lit night. Your eyes are as bright as a full moon. And your face is as pleasant as the gentle night breeze.”
“You know Layla, my little sweetie her mother went on to say, Allah created the night and he created you. Also Allah praised the beauty of the night and he declared mankind the most beautiful creation. All Mankind, black and white”.
“Alhamdulilah! Exclaimed Layla happily, Allah called me beautiful! But mother why do some people call me ‘black girl’ like it’s something rotten? Asked layla her small sweet face crumbling up with pain, they make me feel sad”
“I know sweetheart but don’t worry have some patience, people who say that are ones who don’t know Allah.”
“Is that possible mother, to not know Allah?”
“Yes dear, it is, most people know of Allah but only a few actually know him.
“You know what mother? Said Layla wistfully, I want to be of those few”.
And you know what else, I AM GLAD I AM BLACK GIRL! Alhamdulilah.”

Re: Story about race.
sisters. I wrote this story for my little sister because people used to ask her why are you black? That was in yemen where there is a lot of ignorance about race. May Allah guide us all aameen.
